Online applications for FPSC, PPSC, KPPSC, SPSC, NTS, universities and banks all ask for a photo, a signature and usually a CNIC image — and each one has its own size limit. The upload is rejected if your file is even 1 KB too big. This guide shows the quickest way to get every image to the right size on your phone or PC, without installing an app and without uploading your documents anywhere.

First, check the exact limits

Every commission publishes its requirements in the advertisement or on the instructions page of the online form, and they change from time to time. Write down three things before you start: the maximum file size (in KB), the file type (almost always JPG) and any dimensions in pixels or centimetres. As a rough guide, these are the kinds of limits Pakistani portals use:

ImageTypical limitShape
PhotographJPG, about 20–60 KB, some allow morePortrait, passport style (35 × 45 mm)
SignatureJPG, about 10–20 KBWide strip, roughly 3:1
CNIC front / backJPG, about 50–200 KB eachCard shape, roughly 3:2

If the form’s numbers differ from these, always follow the form.

Step 1: Take a clean photo

Step 2: Crop to passport shape

  1. Open the Aspect Ratio Cropper and add your photo.
  2. Choose Passport 35×45.
  3. Use the position and zoom sliders so your head and the top of your shoulders fill most of the frame, then download.

Step 3: Resize to sensible pixels

A phone photo is around 3000–4000 pixels wide, far more than any form needs. Open the Image Resizer and set a width of about 350–400 pixels (for example 350 × 450). If the form gives exact pixel dimensions, enter those.

Step 4: Compress to the KB limit

  1. Open the Image Compressor and add the resized photo.
  2. Set the output format to JPG.
  3. Enter the limit in Target size — and aim a little lower than the maximum, for example 23 when the limit is 25 KB.
  4. Download. Because the photo is already small, it stays sharp even at 20–30 KB.

Signature

  1. Sign on plain white paper with a black or dark blue pen, a little larger than usual.
  2. Photograph it in daylight without shadows, then crop tightly around the signature with the cropper (3:2 or 21:9 works well).
  3. Resize to about 300 pixels wide and compress to the signature limit, usually 10–20 KB.

CNIC

Place the card on a dark surface, photograph the front and back separately, crop each with the 3:2 ratio and compress them to the limit. If the form wants both sides in one PDF instead, follow our guide on making a PDF of your CNIC and documents on your phone.

Upload errors and fixes

Keep the final files in a folder on your phone — most commissions use the same sizes, so you can reuse them for the next application.
